By taking the Pledge you join a growing number of people sending a message to local business owners that they have the support of the communities they serve. It is also a strong signal to companies outside the state that this is a great place to do business, because we buy from the companies that provide our jobs
The people of Michigan are all in this together, and the Pledge gives us an opportunity to take a united stand. By asking people to take the Pledge, we can begin to gauge how many people are truly committed to becoming a part of Michigan's solution, and we can also see if our message is reaching all of Michigan or just certain areas.
We are seeking additional corporate sponsors to spread the Think Michigan First message far and wide and to advance the other elements of the Take Back Our Future campaign. Our growing number of supporters provides evidence that investing in this campaign is a wise choice.
NO. Only individuals who request a follow-up will be contacted or added to an email distribution list.
Because we are all in this together, it is important that this campaign supports and reaches the entire state of Michigan, not just the most populated areas. By providing this minimal information, you can help us learn where our message has been reached.
Many times the national perception of our state does not match the local perception. By inviting friends of Michigan to take the Pledge, we are hoping to give others who love our state a way to demonstrate their commitment. In the first week alone, we received Pledges from Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Many individuals are interested in becoming more actively involved in the campaign by receiving updates, inviting a speaker, or becoming a corporate sponsor. We offer the opportunity to provide additional information to make it easier for interested people to take those steps.
Absolutely! We encourage anyone who is old enough to understand the concept and who can influence or make a buying decision to take the Pledge. People of every age are affected by economic conditions and this is a great conversation to have with the entire family.
Most behavioral experts say awareness is only a first step. Behavior does not truly change until people commit to making a change. For example, a person may feel out of shape, but that awareness does not translate to physical fitness until he/she commits to changing eating and exercise habits. We hope that when people take the Pledge they will shift from awareness to action and look for ways to Buy Michigan Now.
