Office Star Shines on Buy Michigan Now

You may have heard some commercials running on Detroit's Magic 105.1FM (WMGC) and Oldies 104.3 (WOMC) radio stations lately touting the benefits of Buying Michigan and our increasingly familiar phrase, "Think Michigan First".  They are the product of generous support from our friends at Office Star of Westland, Michigan. 

Though the name has changed over the years, this family-owned business has been proudly serving our community since 1979.  In late 2005, Office Star was one of the first independent office product dealers in the country to introduce its customers to web-based, comparison shopping for office supplies.  Today they offer individuals and businesses the opportunity to buy office supplies at low internet prices, creating a local alternative to national chains. 

More recently, Office Star displayed impressive ingenuity within the state, as one of the first companies to actively show their support for the Buy Michigan Now campaign.  According to President, Greg Newton, "We have always been proud to be a locally owned, independent office supply dealer. When we started our radio campaign last year we received a lot of positive feedback about being a local company. Combine this with Michigan's economy and your (BMN's) efforts and it just seemed like a good fit.
