Buy Michigan Now Campaign Evolves

After a successful launch in 2007, Buy Michigan Now has a fresh look and exciting new content. The changes to the site are designed to make it easier for people to support Michigan-based businesses, actively communicate that support, learn about positive developments happening around the state, and share in our successes. Here are some of the highlights.
The biggest change to the site is the introduction of the Michigan Blue Pages. Named in honor of the beautiful blue waters that surround Michigan, the Michigan Blue Pages are an alternative to traditional online business directories, in that, an organization must be based in Michigan in order to qualify to be listed. Buy Michigan Now defines “Michigan-based” as meeting one of these three Michigan Identification Criteria (MIC): 1) Operates entirely in Michigan; 2) Headquartered in Michigan with some operations outside the state; or 3) Michigan-owned franchise—some fees and/or revenue paid outside the state.
Michigan-based organizations are entitled to a FREE basic listing in the directory. Owners, or authorized representatives, are encouraged to Add Your Business and take advantage of this phenomenal marketing opportunity. Consumers can access information within the Michigan Blue Pages in a variety of ways including filtering by zip code or MIC, or searching by category and keywords. This will help Michigan residents and friends of the state to identify Michigan-based businesses when traveling away from home, find Michigan-based alternatives for products and services they had previously bought from outside the state, and even select new destinations within the peninsulas to visit.
In keeping with Our Pledge, Buy Michigan now is committed to spreading great news happening throughout the state. Did You Know? boxes highlight brief, fun, and relevant Michigan facts on a variety of subjects, while feature articles have been added to expose issues, products, and positive developments that merit a deeper examination. Visitors also have the opportunity to post comments in response to stories they have read.
Articles on the Consumer page are of general interest and may contain chances for individuals to discover new products and services, take part in celebrations, learn about pending legislation, etc. This page also gives visitors an opportunity to tell us what changes they have made in support of Michigan’s economy through Share Your Story and to hear what some famous faces have to say about Michigan in Celebrity Shout Out.
The Community section is designed to connect individuals and businesses with the service organizations that need and depend upon their help. Nonprofit Needs gives qualified nonprofits the opportunity to make specific requests of businesses in the communities that they serve. Fundraising Opportunities is a great place to go to learn about unique ways to raise money for a group’s ongoing needs or a special project. Articles in this section will highlight the accomplishments of nonprofits and the honorable deeds of good corporate citizens.
Our Business area has been developed to encourage Michigan-based businesses to learn from one another and succeed together. Content will cover best practices, exciting new developments, lesser known businesses, etc. Mich to Mich Opportunities gives organizations a means to find Michigan-based vendors and partners to keep more dollars inside the state. In Mich to Mich Connections readers are able to learn about who has been successfully linked together.
Throughout the site, visitors are encouraged to get involved in the campaign and to take an active role in improving the economic state of the state. Check out the What Can I Do? box for suggestions or send us ideas of your own. Use Tip Us Off to tell us about stories we may want to cover or ideas you have to improve the economy.

We Own two Papa Roman's Pizza stores. Both depend greatly on the economy in Michigan. We are involved in many charity Activities and donate food to shelters and other Non-Profit organizations, such as Churches, Special Olympics, Charity events etc...
